Chewang: Does anyone know the best place for live music?

I%26#39;m not much into reggae or trance so I was wondering whether there are any bars/hotels with real live music (blues, rock jazz, etc). I was there twice in the last 2 years but found nothing really, except 2 western guys playing guitar and sax at a lovely little restaurant at Chewang north, near the Boathouse.

I remember about 20 years ago there were a few places along the main strip which had some good bands...

If anyone knows anything, I%26#39;d much appreciate it as I%26#39;m going again next week with my family.

nowadays in chaweng only less amount of hotel are Doing Live band music........Because it cost more for them........and also this low season so its rare to find Live band.......i saw one hotel in chaweng doing this job.......on the way to reggae hotel name is LAEM DIN hotel.......you can try out there restaurant name is Ground...

I went in 2004 and seem to remember there was a huge outdoor style bar made of wood, with some sort of Reggae name that did different types of music. It is not on the coast, but a bit further in along the Chaweng region?

Is it still there?

My favourite place for live music is upstairs in tropical murphy%26#39;s which is just across the road from Mcdonalds on the main strip. They have live music most nights and there is usually a good atmosphere!

Have to agree with Sammi . Been going for 10 years or so . Good staff , cold beers, good food , good music , overall great for a good night out ANDY

When are you going? I am there the middle of next month. If I am there before you I will let you know if I find anywhere else that is good. Have just been informed that the same people have another new bar/restaurant called Coyotes opposite which also have live music so may be worth checking out!
