Weather (sorry!)

Sorry to bring this topic up... However, I%26#39;ve been reading mixed posts on the weather recently in Bangkok.

I fully understand that I%26#39;ve booked my trip during the %26#39;rainy season%26#39; (we leave this Sunday to arrive in BKK on Monday night). However, I%26#39;m wondering what this means.

The straight up weather reports say ';raining/thunderstorms'; and 30*C for the next week. Here in Canada, that would mean pouring rain, all day/all night.

Please tell me what the days have actually been looking like. I%26#39;ve read that there are brief rainshowers, followed by sun. Also I%26#39;ve read that there is non-stop rain.

Feedback is appreciated. Thank you :-)

Weather (sorry!)

It is like you said. There are some days it constantly is raining these days. But some days it is also sunny during the day, and the day will end in rain like an several hours pourdown with locally heavy thunder. Some days you will be able to visit the beach for sure, but not all the time and it will end in rain. When you arrive in Thailand I would advise you to buy an umbrella.

Weather (sorry!)

Hi;

Umbrella is the must in Bangkok this rainning season. The weather is very unpredictable with

a tropical rain at any time during the day and night.

I had some experience with Bangkok rain in November

and find out it was pleasure with cool air and less

As a Bangkokian, I will tell you what its been like recently. Last two days, more or less dry. Three or four days before that, storms with heavy rain, some days lighter rain for many hours. Expect heavy rain often in October, and today flood preparations were announced for a few areas of the city. You will get some dry weather but skies are likely to be overcast.

Could someone please provide an update on the current weather in BKK?We arrive in BKK on Thurs and were hoping for pleasant weather to get out and about and see the sites (despite booking for the tail end of the rainy season), however if the forecasts I%26#39;ve seen are to be believed, it%26#39;s not looking so good for us... lots of rain :-(

Also, any updates on the flood situation?

Thanks!

Its raining right now where I am; thunder too. The tail end of the monsoon in Bangkok is often the worst part. As noted above, the forecast is storms and possible flash floods. Last week many parts of the city were underwater, but some areas are less affected.
