I%26#39;ll be visiting Thailand for 3 weeks from end of December until January 18th and trying to find the best Islands to visit. We want to spend 3 or 4 days in Bangkok, another 5 days or so in Chiang mai to do some volunteering, then off to the Islands for some relaxation and good times. What%26#39;s the best way to spend 11 days down south? Which islands provide the most beautiful beaches, and perhaps not super touristy? I hear Jan will be the rainy season for some of the Islands on the east side?. Also, is it recommended to book my lodging ahead of time during this season? Or will it be ok to do some last minute booking?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
3 weeks in Thailand - What are the best Islands?
If you are looking for something not super touristy maybe have a look into Khao Lak area.. here you have the Similian Islands ... gorgeous or you could pop over to Koh Sok national park... and can do day trips to Phuket and Krabi from here.. (about an hour too Phuket)..
dec/Jan is high season so you would def want to book your accomodation before you go..
Cheers
chelle
