Swine flu outbreak

Where do you get the information that there is swine flu in Phuket or anywhere else in Thailand?

';Bangkok Post: Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva calls for increased surveillance after a swine influenza outbreak kills more than 80 people IN MEXICO. Livestock Development Department chief Yukol Limlamthong says the department had banned the import of live pigs from the US and Mexico, with Thailand last importing live breeding pigs from the US in 2006.';

The Phuket airport has a scanner, which is more than what Australia is doing.

A swine flu scanner ???!!! Gotta get me one of those.

It better not just be a ';swine'; scanner, or Bangla Rd will be empty !

Wildo, you are a true comedian, one of the best I have heard, on TA for a long time!

We need more humour during these days, with all the

c**p going on in the world.

Haha, yeah. It%26#39;s a fever scanner.

My kids brought more things home from pre school (headlice, measles the lot) than taking them O/Seas

Enjoy a holiday with your kids, don%26#39;t worry about swine flu, the weather (or the price of T Shirts)

Yes the fever scanners , we have them in Aust but they are not using them ? Thailand is ahead of the game, no reported cases in Thailand yet but a few cases in Aust.

This morning Aussie media have just announced the scanners are are about to be set up in all Major Australian Airports.

They are also now saying only seven reported deaths from Swine Flu in Mexico and not the 150 1st said, this was in the 12 noon radio broadcast 29/4/09.

No doubt more news will follow but again it looks as if this could have been blown out of proportion, lets hope so as we can all do without this.

Cheers, Pete.

Don%26#39;t you just love the media!!!!

Nothing like a good media blow up!

This afternoon reports that swine flu has reached the Hunter Valley with 8 people reportedly waiting to be tested!

Doesn%26#39;t ';waiting to be tested'; fall a little short of the reported outbreak? The report then toned down and said the 8 people had ';flu like symptoms';

Exaggeration anyone?
