I will be staying in khao lak in March 2010 as the last portion of my SE asia trip. I would like to book my international flight home to Los Angeles and was wondering where I should fly from. I noticed that airfare is about $100 more expensive to fly from Phuket. How much does it cost to get back to Bangkok? Is getting back to Bangkok worth the hassle for the cheaper price? Thanks!

I think I will just spend the extra $$. I am going to spend time in Bangkok earlier on my trip so I guess there is no point in going back there. :)
Yep, for only U$100, if you%26#39;ve got the option of returning to LA via departing from Phuket since you%26#39;re already in the Khao Lak area, then I would just as soon fly home from there (though you%26#39;ll have to fly to another hub to refuel first before flying across the Pacific). The only airlines I know of that flies direct is Thai Airways International but that is only between LA and BKK.
BTW, may I ask, which airlines you%26#39;re using? And which hub do you have to connect through? Thanks.
Planning to use Asiana or China Airlines. Layover is in Seoul or Taipei.
