Loy Krathong 2009

Hi. I%26#39;ll be in Bangkok during the Loy Krathong festival this year and it would be great if someone can share with me on where this festival will be celebrated this year? I mean the national celebration. I know one which is in Sukhothai but what about Bangkok itself?

There is no central point. Its celebrated at any body of water - the river is the favourite place and Its best see at and after dusk.

isnt there anyway particular in bangkok that the event would be celebrated full scale? fireworks, float parade, etc ... according to the dinner cruises schedule, apparently there will be at chao phraya river.

Some hotels, temples and district offices organise local competitions, fairs and fireworks, but its mostly a low key but very beautiful affair.
