Ambassador Hotel

Has anyone been to the Ambassador hotel? How does it rate compared to the surrounding hotels? The location looks pretty good.

I see they have a tower on the hotel which is supposed to be where the better rooms are located. Do these rooms have WiFi services or in-room safes?

Ambassador Hotel

Family travel is ok at Ambassador, but the staff leaves something to be desired. The wife is Asian, and several times when she walked in with me, one of the ';Gards'; would try to get her for a joiner fee. Really ticked me off, big time. If they did that in the states, they would be in deep poo poo. Rooms were in sad shape, but supposed to be in process of renovation, as was the Lobby. For single guys, it is not girl friendly, even for the massage therapist that are in the same area.

Ambassador Hotel

The Ambassador is a very old hotel dating back from the 1960s. I stayed there whilst on R%26amp;R leave from Vietnam. At that time it was listed as a 5* property, so that will give you some idea of its vintage - and mine!!!

It is in dire need of immediate renovation. The only thing that attracts me to this place is the brilliant Indian restaurant, possibly the best in Bangkok. As far as hotel accommodation is concerned, you can do much better elsewhere.

Thx ... Looks like I may be cancelling this reservation.
