which island

Hi

My husband and I hope to go to Thailand on January. Suggestions please which island for 50 years olds - don%26#39;t want to be the oldest kids on the block

which island

What kind of island are you looking for?

Close to BKK? water activities like norkelling nd divinf? jetskis? remote and quiet? or places to walk around etc.

For close to BKK, there is Koh Samet.

If i want remote. I go to koh Kood or Koh Wai in Trat

If I have time and want some fun I head down to Phuket/Krabi

If I have time and want to be snorkelling etc. Koh Lanta, Koh Hai in Trang

which island

For a relaxing break in comfort Id probably recommend The Kantaray Bay Hotel and you can use facilities and beach at Cape Panwa Hotel in Phuket.

Ao Nang in Krabi is a good base if you want to explore the surrounding area. From Ao Nang you can get a longtail boat to nearby Railay which has a beautiful beach and amazing scenery. You can also visit nearby Islands such as Koh Lanta, or do a 5 island tour which includes Poda/Chicken Island, there are also boats to Koh Phi Phi if you really wanted to go there.

My fav is Koh Lipe you used to be able to get a boat from here to Langkawi in Malaysia but I dont know if it is still operating.

Enjoy

have a look at mae nam resort ,mae nam beach, koh samui..

I%26#39;ve only been to Phuket and Ko Samui, as far as Thai islands go, but as a 50 year old, I definitely preferred Ko Samui and am returning in 2010.

Hi,

Why worry about being the oldest kids on the block. Speaking as a 50 + there are many nice places to visit. I have been to Koh Samui, Koh Tao and the one in between the two is a nice place. Now, I prefer Koh Phi Phi desoite the fact it has become quite touristy. What exactly what do you want from an island ?

If you go to Koi Samui then its near Koh Tao and Koh Phangan, you could island hop a bit then. Flights from Bangkok are about 1hr 30mins ish.

I like Koh Samui as there is plenty of things to do, however I like Phi Phi too as it was quiet and relaxing there for us.

Phuket is quite noisy from my experience, but again a large place with plenty to do.

thank you for your reply. We both love snorkeling and a bit of culture, good food and not too busy - so your information will help
