Lone Traveller on a Short Stay - Any Tour Guide Suggestions?

I%26#39;m a lone traveller who%26#39;ll be having a few days in Bangkok en route to New Zealand. I really want to make the most of my time, and it%26#39;s been suggested that a tour guide for the day can be a really good way of seeing the sights and learning how to negotiate the city. Does anybody know any tour guides that they would recommened? Also, any advice for a lone traveler in Bangkok welcome!
