Start with how much you want to spend per night for you accommodation and that will give you lots of suggestions in your price range. Reasonable rate doesn%26#39;t mean the same to everyone. For me a reasonable rate is a room with air, hot water, TV, private toilet and shower starting under 1000 baht.

Here are two hotels you might want to check out, the Ibis and the Swiss Park:

If you are a woman then the Ibis might be a nicer place since it is newer. Near the Swiss Park Hotel you also have several other hotels with air and hot water plus private toilet starting around 700 baht.

If you are a male and you intend to do some bar hopping then this place might do, the Fortuna Hotel.

I eat breakfast there every now and then, they have an ';all you can eat'; buffet every morning open to the public. Nearby is the Foodland Supermarket where you have a restaurant open 24 hours a day.

All of these hotels are close enough to the Nana Skytrain stop. Lots of street vendors, restaurants, malls, travel agencies for tours and nightlife. You can ignore the nightlife if you choose or stop in.

Up to you.

The Ibis is not that bad. The price starts around 1300 baht on up.

Right across from the Foodland Supermarket is the Amari Boulevard.

Suk 11 Hostel has some classy apartments now that is a separate place than their old hostel.

(Never saw them in person.)

Good luck.

Hi;

There are just many Hotels in the lower soi Sukhumvit road to pick

and choose at low 1000baht and up high end scale Marriott , Landmark .

I stayed at the Majestic suite as always in Bangkok and again this upcoming November, 2009. The M.S. is a small hotel in the middle of everything Tourist things . However, it is the Best value beyond my expectations . The General manager of MS. never fail to give me a welcome drink upon check in.

You might want to take into consideration the Hardness,, Not Firmness, but how hard the beds are. I stayed at the Manhattan several times, and felt like I was sleeping on a foam covered floor. The ones at Swiss Park were much better, Nois was a bit of problem one time, but the Air Con would keep you under covers to keep warm. I still like it though, and will stay there again. Not a place to scream luxury, but comfortable. Free wi-fi in lobby only.

The Ibis Nana Hotel does NOT have a pool.

I%26#39;m staying in the Sukhumvit area when I go in December, I liked the look of the Dream hotel at Soi 14 and the Furama Xclusive hotels. Both had very reasonable rates for the quality of accomodation.

Hi;

I stay at the Majestic suite the last 4 trips in Bangkok and again this coming

November, 2009. The room is big enough and the queen Bed firm for good back support . The MS. does not have a pool . However, I can always welcome to Use the pool at Majestic Grande , a short walk to soi2 .

just got back from bangkok, stayed at the imperial tara in sukumvit area, very close to skytrain, its just round the corner, as is a decent shopping mall with supermarket inside for esentials you may require. stayed bed and breakfast, its got a decent pool and its rated as a four star, you can look it up on the net
