Getting to Koh Jum from Krabi Airport

Hi guys,

We land at Krabi Airport at 18:00, and want to get to Koh Jum the next morning.

Is this the best plan:

1) Take a taxi from Krabi Airport to Krabi Town

2) Stay at a hotel in Krabi Town (.. visit night market :))

3) In the morning, take the 10:30 ferry from Krabi Town to Koh Lanta, which also stops at Koh Jum, get picked up by bungalows from the ferry.

Also:

1) From where in Krabi Town does the ferry leave? Or is Krabi Town so small that it doesn%26#39;t really matter where I am staying?

2) Recommended hotel in Krabi Town? Nothing too fancy..

3) Is the night market in Krabi Town open every night?

Thanks!!!

I think your plan makes sense and if you are already in Krabi town then the morning ferry is the most conveinient way to get to Jum. The pier for the ferry is about 2kl southwest of the town, if you buy a ticket from a travel agent in town then it will include a free transfer to the pier for the boat (but remember to check this) it takes about 10 minutes to get there. There are plenty of agents near the riverside around chao fa pier and on the roads leading up from thanon utrakit to thanon maharat. I%26#39;ve stayed at the city hotel which is ok and in a good position near the riverside, night market and the centre of town, but I also saw some nice smaller places in Matarat soi 4 and soi 6 which were cheaper. The night market is open every night from 6ish. There is also good food in and around the sois between matarat and thanon pruksa uthit.

btw, where are you staying in Jum?

cheers

Thanks for the detailed answer!!

I haven%26#39;t booked for Jum yet, since my trip is actually in February :) I%26#39;m just enjoying collecting all the info and planning now.. I guess for me planning is a big part of the fun :)

Right now I%26#39;ve heard good things about New Bungalows, so that%26#39;s my direction. Do you have any personal suggestions? Looking for a nice bungalow, simple but good conditions, nice porch with a view to the sea, quiet..

Yes new bungalows will give you that and so will a few of the bungalows at Joy, the beach is nice there too. Food is too good at New... If you want quiet then you might think about somewhere in the north, either Ting rai or Lubo, but tbh Andaman beach is hardly packed and is close enough to Ban Ko Jum to walk over for a change of scene or supplies

Sorry!!! Can you tel me when you come? may be i can help you also.

February :)
