Hello everybody
I am looking for a transfer to Bangkok from Khao Lak. I consider VIP 24 seat Bus or a private minivan. I need to be at Suvarnabhumi early morning, 8 am at latest so I thought the overnight option is not bad. There are no flights during night and I wanted to stay in Khao Lak as long as possible. Doeas it take 11 hours to drive to BKK? Wouldn;t be a cheaper %26amp; faster option to hire a privat minivan? (There is a group of 9 of us). What do you think?
Overnight transfer to Bangkok
Driving at night is dangerous in Thailand (not that safe in the daytime) due to the accident rate, high speed driving etcetc. Also, you%26#39;ll be exhausted by the time you get there. IMO you should fly to Bangkok.
Overnight transfer to Bangkok
I agree entirely with dragonc and in any event I do not think it is a practicable proposition. Firstly I do not think there is a Khao Lak based vehicle hire company/agen with a self-drive mini-bus to accommodate 9 persons or that would go for a one-way hire to Bangkok.
Try Khao Lak Land Discovery on www.khaolaklanddiscovery.com/bookings.php as they have a variety of vehicles with driver or Khao Lak Travel Centre on www.khaolaktravelcenter.com/index.php… who may quote for two mini-vans with drivers.
And, yes, 11 hours is a reasonble estimate of time to Bangkok. Dutch friends of ours drove non-stop (apart from comfort breaks) from Khao Lak to Hua Hin which is about 3 hours from Bangkok last March overnight in 8 hours. They said they will never do it again!!!
