Bangkok special romantic night out

i am taking my girlfriend to Thailand and we are having a couple of nights in Bangkok. i want to make one of the nights really special and romantic. i have read a lot about the Vertigo Grill and of Sirrocco%26#39;s and I am lead to believe that the Vertigo Bar is the best for a romantic intimate special night with amazing views.

I am wondering if we should start with a river dinner cruise, can anyone suggest the best, we would like good food, open air dining maybe some live music and then go on the the Vertigo Bar for drinks?

Or the other option is to go straight to the Vertigo Grill for dinner and drinks? has anyone already had an evening like this?

Alternatively, is there something else out there i am missing or should consider? We are looking for very special and romantic, a night we%26#39;ll never forget.

Cost (within reason) is not a factor, we are happy to spend some money for a special night. Any help we can get would be very gratefully received.

Thanks

Thanks- any suggestions, whether a dinner river cruise is better than dinner at vertigo?

Hi,

My opinion is that the dinner cruise (if choosing a good dinner cruise) would be better.. Why? Because you can always go to Vertigo for snacks/drinks and get the view which is impossible on a dinner cruise..

They are however, two totally different experiences.. As far as excellent views and with truly first class dining goes, your best options truly are at Sirocco @ State Tower or Vertigo @ Banyan Tree.. There are a number of other ';roof top'; eatiers around town, but none that afford such a view (and price that is commensurate with the view)..

In my opinion, a river cruise/dinner is a bit more %26#39;native%26#39; but it boils down to what%26#39;s your style, what%26#39;s more important to you..

As I mentioned, you could combine the two-- dinner on the cruise and after dinner drinks at State/Banyan

HI try Gabbages and Condoms dead original place to eat not too expensive

dinner cruise best idea...

with thai dancers etc,and dancing for yourselfs

with the river going by...

vertigo is nice ..very pricey, great views

but your up there with mainly other wealthy foreigners which you can do back home

id do the cruise,THAN go for a cocktail or 2....at vertigo/moon bar if the cruise wasnt enough

Sounds like you are going to propose.... good luck I haven%26#39;t been anywhere romantic in Bangkok but would be very interested to hear what you do as I am going to Bangkok for my honeymoon for 2 nights.

Thanks so far people, all really useful advice. are there many river dinner cruises that nayone else can reccomend?

I went on the Loy Nava cruise last month, fantastic food, brilliant staff, good price and romantic.

Make sure you do the sunset one!

Let me know if you need more info...

Thanks very much everyone, so the river cruise it is, then a drink at one of the towers afterwards. Given that we will only be drinking anf not eating at the Tower, any recomedations for which one? Vertigo or Scirocco%26#39;s?

We visit BKK in September and I have booked the Loy Nava dinner cruise, costs about 1,400 bht and are giving a 20% online discount at the moment.Think the website is loynava.com, you can view the boat and the menu from there.

Have a fab trip,BKK one of my most favourite places in the world.
