Old Bangkok Inn and smoking

Have any smokers stopped at the Old Bangkok Inn? I%26#39;d like to book it, but my husbands a smoker and I would like to know if there is a smoking area outside the hotel. I%26#39;m concerned that if there isn%26#39;t a designated area, he might end up with a fine or something.
